Term 3 Week 10 Learning Log:
Monday: It is the last week of posts for Term 3. Mr chua came in and we greeted him, after that he get us to bring our lit file and line up outside to proceed to level 4 music room. Once we are in there, Mr Chua was so angry as the whole class did not bring any costumes for the rehearsal. He ask the wardrobe IC to stand up, as I'm the IC in my group, i stood up. I do not know there is a full-dress rehearsal, i thought it was only rehearsal without any costumes on it. My director did not inform me beforehand. So, i got scolded for not bringing. :( Mr Chua told us that we were the first class he had ever seen that has brought nothing to the full dress rehearsal during the past 4 years. After the scolding, we became more efficient in fulfilling Mr Chua's instruction. My group is the last one to perform, so we waited quietly and look at how the groups perform. When is about my groups' turn, we went put to have our last rehearsal. Finally, is our turn. My group members did not memorise the script. OMG! I think that my group is the worst. They are not prepared at all. After that, we went back class and ~HOME SWEET HOME~
Thursday: Mr Chua came in and scolded the same students that went out the class again. After that, we greeted him as usual and lesson begin. First thing first, Mr Chua gave us back our literature test paper. I'm so worrying and hope i can get a better score so that my effort is not wasted. :) I got 14/20 for the test. Not bad i think :) Quickly, without wasting much time, he gone through the test paper and after that shown us the Romeo and Juliet movie so that we can know how the background scene and costumes going to be like. Mr Chua went through the movie, explaining the details. He told the set decorators, costume designers and actors to stand to elaborate more on how is it going to be like. Soon, the bell rang again, Mr Chua couldn't get to finish the movie. But, more or less, we already get how is it going to be done.

Term 3 week 9 ♥ 11:11 PM
Monday: today’s lesson was simple. Mr. Chua came in with Ms. Chala, we greeted them, sat down and had our lit test on the play “Are you lonesome tonight?” I hope I score well for this test as I have studied quite a fair bit. After Mr. Chua had finish distributing the papers, he took off. Ms. Chala was our relief teacher of that day. Our class behaved well and we ended off well. Our lesson soon cam e to an end and we went home as it was the last period of the day. I think our class is really disciplined and we can do it. That was what happened in lit class today.
Thursday: today’s lesson was on the 1994 Pulitzers Prize by Kevin Carter. But before that , we got a lecture by Mr. Chua on how stupid we were to wonder out of class without a teacher in class. So , after that 15 minutes of lecturing, we began our lesson. Mr. Chua had given us each a worksheet with the picture at the back and question at the front regarding on the picture.
That picture really touched me so much and it was sad to see that Kevin didn’t do anything about it. The picture shows a little boy crawling towards a food shelter while a vulture is standing right behind it waiting for the little boy to die so it can it him. Kevin just happened to walk past and was it and so he took a snap shot. After that he walked away without even helping the poor little boy. I feel really sad as to who would do such a thing by walking away but sadly it was Kevin Carter. There is so much to say about this picture. As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words. I feel sad for the both the boy and Kevin Carter. After taking this picture and going back to New York, people ask Kevin weather did he do anything to help the boy. He told the media that he walked away. For then on, people kept asking questions and how he could change the life of that boy if he were to help him. As a result, Kevin Carter committed suicide due to depression.
Many did research on Kevin Carter and this was what they found in his diary “Please don't break.. keep on forwarding to our friends on this good day.. Let's make a prayer for the suffering in anywhere any place around the globe and send this friendly reminder to others; think & look at this...when you complain about your food and the food we waste daily.........”. It basically means that we should not waste our food as people in other countries are dying due to hunger and lack of food and we should not take things for granted and always treasure what we have.

Term 3 Week 8 ♥ 3:50 AM
Monday: Mr Chua came in with Mr Narz tagging along at the back. I thought that he was our trainee teacher. We greeted both of them afterwards. Mr Chua then distributed the worksheet in his hands and told us to do our work quietly. He then walked out, leaving Mr Narz to relief our class. I did my work quietly, as told. Our class kept the silence till the end of the period although there were a few whisperes here and there. Mr Narz was quite pleased with the performance of our class. We then handed up our worksheet, greeted Mr Narz and went home. I find that our class is actually disciplined, only that we were rowdy at the wrong time. So, I think that we need to train to be more self discipline next time.

Thursday: Mr Chua came in and we greeted him. He then quickly distributed Are You Lonesome Tonight Worksheet 2 to us and scolded some students for copying other classmates work. I think that I scored a very good mark. Mr Chua was very disappointed in our class. He was expecting us to be more honest in our work and to try our best in doing our homework even though we didn't know how to do the worksheet, we still had to finish it.. After much scolding, he then went through the worksheet and told us to submit our illustration. Mr Chua gave out a article, but the bell rang just in time. We had to do it as homework. I think that we need to have more integrity and discipline. Without it, it is very difficult to achieve simple things in life. So, I think that our class should practice to be more self disciplined and honest.

Term 3 Week 7 ♥ 5:50 AM
This week’s lesson was short as there were no lessons on Monday as it was Singapore’s 45th National Birthday. We celebrated it on Friday which was the previous week. We all had so much fun and the whole school was all hyped up.
We resumed lessons on Thursday. We went straight to the CEPP corner for our first class rehearsal. We were given instructions to place our bags at one corner and sit in the middle to wait for further instructions. Soon after, we were sitting in our groups ready to start the play. Mr. Chua gave each group a corner to practice. It was kind of fun seeing how everyone gets into character.
But our lessons soon came to an end and we rushed to get to our next class…

Term 3 Week 6 ♥ 5:14 AM
Monday: Lesson started as usual. We greeted Mr. Chua and continued on the play of “Are you lonesome tonight?” but today, we were going through on how drugs affect us like how Elvis died due to drugs. It was a drug free week and everyone had gotten a worksheet or rather a passage on this boy named Jack and how drugs affected him. This passage was kind of related to the play so Mr. Chua decided to cover it. Mr. Chua then decided to rate our reading skills and how well we could project our voice. He chooses different people and graded them. Luckily my name was not mentioned so listened to fellow classmates read. I could not hear some of them as they were too soft so I read it on my own. We spent the whole period on this passage. It was how a boy was influenced to drugs and he thought that he could stop anytime but he was wrong. He tried to stop but he could not. Once we’ve started taking, there’s no going back. You might never know what you you might might get yourself into. When your friends offer you drugs, immediately say no and don’t be curious on the affects. Drugs will destroy you as well as your life. Don’t be curious what the drugs affect are just stay vigilant and look out for people who take drugs or offer you drugs. As the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat.
Thursday: Today, we continued the play on “The Mighty Mandarin”. It was quite a fun lesson today as each row got a character to read. Mr. Chua played three different roles and had three different voices for each character. We all had fun for lit lessons today and it might be the best one yet. Our lesson was soon coming to an end and so Mr. Chua gave us homework to do. We each had a poem relating to the Mighty Mandarin and we had to illustrate the scene on the Mighty Mandarin. We were also reprimanded to memorise our lines for our literature play. I was in charge of costumes so there is less pressure off me. All in all I enjoyed today’s lit lesson and I think our lessons are starting to get more meaningful if we all pay attention in class and do well for literature.
